Earlier members mined at a higher rate to reward their early contributions when the network was small. As the network grew, the mining rate was adjusted based on a supply model to balance growth, accessibility, longevity, and scarcity, ensuring rewards are within the total supply limit of 65 billion Pi allocated for mining.
