June 21 was chosen as International Yoga Day because it is the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. It symbolizes light, energy, and harmony. In yogic tradition, this day is also believed to mark the beginning of Adi Yogi’s teachings of yoga to his disciples, making it spiritually significant. These reasons led to June 21 being recognized worldwide as International Yoga Day.
