TAAF 2024 Anime of the Year Winners
The Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2024 (TAAF 2024) announced its Anime of the Year winners, selected from 412 titles released between October 1, 2022, and September 30, 2023.
Grand Prize Winners:
- Feature Film: “The First Slam Dunk”
- Television Series: “Oshi no Ko”
Anime Fan Award:
- “IDOLiSH7 Movie: LIVE 4bit – BEYOND THE PERiOD”
Individual Awards:
- Writers: Takehiko Inoue (for “The First Slam Dunk”)
- Directors: Takehiko Inoue (for “The First Slam Dunk”)
- Animators: Takeshi Honda (for ”
Kimitachi wa Dou Ikiru ka”) - Visual Artists: Daiki Nakazawa (for “The First Slam Dunk”)
- Sound Artists/Performers: YOASOBI (for “Oshi no Ko”, “Kidou Senshi Gundam: Suisei no Majo”)
The Tokyo Anime Award Festival also features international entries for its Feature Animation and Short Animation Competitions. In the Feature Animation category, 32 entries from 25 countries were submitted, while the Short Animation category received 962 entries from 68 countries. The festival’s Preliminary Selection Committee shortlisted 29 entries, with each category awarding two titles the Grand Prize and the Award of Excellence. Additionally, a separate fan vote determined the Everyone’s Top 100 Anime of the Year winners, with “IDOLiSH7 Movie: LIVE 4bit – BEYOND THE PERiOD” winning the Feature Film category and “IDOLiSH7 Third Beat!” winning the Television Series category
