The quantity of gold you receive when purchasing through Jar is calculated based on the current market price of gold per gram. Here’s how it works:
- Determine the amount to invest: Decide how much money you want to spend on purchasing digital gold.
- Calculate the gold value: The app calculates how much of your investment goes towards purchasing gold after deducting any applicable fees (like GST).
- Determine the gold price per gram: The current gold price per gram is then used to calculate the quantity of gold you’ll receive.
- Calculate the quantity of gold: The quantity of gold is calculated by dividing the amount spent (after GST) by the current gold price per gram.
For example, if you invest ₹100 and the gold price per gram is ₹6,000:
- GST (3%) on ₹100 is ₹3.
- Net amount spent on gold = ₹100 – ₹3 = ₹97.
- Gold quantity = ₹97 / ₹6,000 = 0.0162 grams.
This calculation ensures transparency, allowing users to know exactly how much gold they are purchasing with their investment.
