The incident happened on August 29, 2024, at Artem Chigvintsev and Nikki Garciaβs home in Napa Valley, California. According to reports and court filings, the argument reportedly began over breakfast and parenting issues involving their young son.
Nikki Garcia later claimed the argument escalated after she threw a pair of toddler shoes toward Artem. She alleged that Artem then grabbed their son and went upstairs, and when she tried to enter the room, he allegedly tackled and pinned her to the ground multiple times. She also claimed he pressed down on her chest, making her feel like she was suffocating. Artem denied being the primary aggressor and claimed Nikki had been aggressive toward him during the confrontation.
A 911 call was initially made for a medical emergency but was later canceled before paramedics arrived. Police later responded to the home and arrested Artem on suspicion of felony domestic violence. He was released the same day on $25,000 bail.
After reviewing the investigation and evidence, Napa County prosecutors decided not to file criminal charges against him.
