Like how they treat people when there’s nothing to gain—waiters, cleaners, strangers. If they’re still kind and respectful, that says a lot. They listen more than they talk, they don’t interrupt, and they’re not all about showing off.
Also, they own up when they mess up. That’s a big one. A good person won’t try to dodge responsibility or blame others. And you just feel safe around them—like you can be yourself without being judged.
