Ambedkar came in ready to talk justice and rights for Dalits, and Gandhi kinda brushed him off like โ€œI got this.โ€ Then in 1932, things got messyโ€”Ambedkar wanted separate votes for Dalits so they could actually have a voice, but Gandhi was like โ€œnah fam, thatโ€™s gonna split usโ€ and started a dramatic fast. Whole country panicked. Pressure was real. Ambedkar had to compromise, but he def wasnโ€™t vibinโ€™ with it.

    Did Gandhi hate him tho?

Not โ€œhateโ€ hate, but they had major beef. Gandhi was like โ€œfix caste from inside,โ€ Ambedkar was like โ€œnah bro, torch the whole system.โ€ Gandhi saw caste as a problem to smooth over, Ambedkar saw it as a straight-up injustice that needed wrecking. Gandhi was the face of the freedom struggle, but Ambedkar was out here fighting for actual equality, not just Independenceโ„ข๏ธ.

Other than Tharoorโ€™s book, Aakash Singh Rathoreโ€™s Becoming Babasaheb is another one thatโ€™s super popular. Itโ€™s a two-part series, giving a fresh take on Ambedkarโ€™s journey. Thereโ€™s also Bhimayana, a graphic novel that uses unique art to tell his story, making his life more accessible to a wider audience.

itโ€™s kinda wild how people can be deeply committed to somethingโ€”even when it starts hurting themโ€”and still hesitate to let it go. Sometimes itโ€™s pride, fear, trauma, or just straight-up spiritual blindness. Like, if youโ€™ve built your whole identity around a belief system, even if it starts to crumble, walking away feels like losing yourself. And letโ€™s be realโ€”running to Jesus means surrender, and surrender isnโ€™t easy for anyone, especially if theyโ€™ve been taught that Heโ€™s the enemy or a lie.

Some might also feel too ashamed, like theyโ€™ve gone too far to be forgiven or accepted. But the crazy part is, Jesus always leaves the door open. No matter how far someoneโ€™s gone, Heโ€™s still like, โ€œCome home.โ€

So yeahโ€ฆ itโ€™s not always about not realizingโ€”sometimes itโ€™s about not being ready to admit the truth. Or being too afraid of what change might mean. But the moment someone truly sees who Jesus is, it changes everything.

Straight up, Ambedkar and Gandhi were on totally different wavelengths, even if they both wanted a better India.

Politics? Gandhi wanted moral transformation through peaceful resistance. Ambedkar wanted legal and institutional safeguards โ€” like actual power for the powerless.
Economics? Gandhi was anti-industrial, into villages. Ambedkar said thatโ€™s not gonna cut it for the poor โ€” he backed modern industry and state intervention.
Social reform? Gandhi saw untouchability as evil, but still supported caste in theory. Ambedkar said caste is poison, period. He fought to end it โ€” full stop.

Their impact? Gandhi moved hearts. Ambedkar moved systems. Both mattered, but if you’re talking about long-term foundations โ€” Ambedkar built the house.

For real, Ambedkar spoke from the soul. Dude lived through the roughest kind of injustice and still believed in building something better for everyone. Some of his lines really hit:

    • โ€œWe are Indians, firstly and lastly.โ€

    • โ€œCultivation of mind should be the ultimate aim of human existence.โ€

    • โ€œDemocracy is not a form of government, but a form of social organization.โ€

Man had vision. Not just for laws and politics, but for how we treat each other as people.
