Canadian eTA for Colombian citizens is not automatic for everyone — it depends on your situation.
If you’re a Colombian passport holder, you can only apply for a Canada eTA if you meet one of these conditions:
- You held a Canadian visa in the last 10 years, OR
- You currently have a valid US non-immigrant visa
If you don’t meet those conditions, then you need to apply for a regular Canada visitor visa instead.
If you are eligible, the process is simple:
- Apply online with your passport
- Pay a small fee
- Get approval usually within minutes to a few hours
- eTA is linked directly to your passport for air travel
But if you’re not eligible, no shortcut — you must go through the embassy visa process.
