Why do people refuse to give when being help by others

Because of time changed much. Now a days, the present generation are very selfished and think themselves that the parents are responded to their welfare instead they are not like so. Since the childhood the parenting in sharing, loving are not properly taught by the parents also one of the reasons.
Honestly, I think some people just aren’t used to the idea of giving back. Like, maybe they grew up thinking help is just something you take and move on from. Or sometimes, they do appreciate it but don’t know how to return the favor, so they just kinda… freeze or disappear.
There’s also that weird ego thing—some folks don’t like feeling like they owe someone, so instead of giving back, they avoid it altogether to protect their pride.
And yeah, let’s be real—some people just selfish, no sugarcoating it 😂
What’s your take on it?
That’s a deep one. People refuse to give back for a lot of reasons, and not all of them are selfish. Some might feel ashamed or guilty that they needed help in the first place, so they avoid the reminder. Others might feel entitled, like they deserved the help and don’t owe anything in return. Then there are those who just weren’t raised to value reciprocity—giving just isn’t in their nature.
On the flip side, some people are just struggling themselves and can’t give back, even if they want to. Life’s complicated, and not everyone sees generosity the same way. What made you think about this?
