The United States has announced indictments and sanctions targeting two major figures in the cybercrime world. One of the individuals is the alleged operator of Joker’s Stash, a notorious now-shuttered marketplace that sold millions of payment cards stolen in some of the biggest data breaches over the past ten years. Additionally, a prominent Russian hacker known as Taleon has been indicted for his involvement with Cryptex, a cryptocurrency exchange that has become one of Russia’s leading platforms for money laundering.
